Despite Gaten’s acting success, the brothers share an interest in music. They have performed together through WIP, with Gaten serving as a lead vocalist and Carmen contributing as a drummer.
Their relationship therefore extends beyond being siblings. Music has provided them with opportunities to perform together while maintaining separate identities within the wider entertainment industry.
Carmen Matarazzo’s Sister Sabrina
Sabrina Matarazzo is Carmen’s older sister. She has been associated with acting and social media and is another member of the Matarazzo family with an interest in entertainment.
Sabrina shares a close family connection with Carmen and Gaten. Growing up together allowed the three siblings to experience creative activities while supporting one another’s individual interests and career directions.
She has also been connected with WIP alongside her brothers and their friends. This musical involvement made entertainment something the siblings could experience together rather than pursuing entirely separate creative paths.

Carmen’s early performing experience included a 2015 stage production of Into the Woods. The production was presented through Bellarine Theatre Company and allowed him to experience live theatre.
Taking part in a stage production introduced Carmen to performing before audiences. Theatre also provided a different creative environment from the music performances that later became a larger part of his entertainment activities.
This early experience became one part of Carmen’s developing creative background. As he grew older, music and drumming became more prominent, eventually leading to performances alongside his siblings and friends.
Carmen Matarazzo’s Music Career
Carmen developed his strongest entertainment connection through music. As a drummer, he became involved in live performances and worked alongside other young musicians who shared similar musical interests.
His musical activities became particularly visible through WIP. The group brought Carmen together with his siblings and friends, giving him opportunities to perform for audiences at different venues.
Rather than relying only on his brother’s acting recognition, music provided Carmen with his own creative role. Drumming became an important way for him to participate directly in live entertainment.
Carmen Matarazzo and the WIP Band
WIP was formed by Carmen, his siblings, and several friends. The group brought together seven members with different musical responsibilities and interests, creating a collaborative environment for live performances.
Gaten became the band’s lead singer, while Carmen performed as its drummer. Sabrina was also connected with the group, making WIP an important creative project shared by members of the Matarazzo family.
The band performed different styles of music and showed an interest in groups such as Led Zeppelin and The Black Keys. WIP eventually expanded from smaller performances into touring and merchandise.
WIP Band Performances and Venues
As WIP developed, the band received opportunities to perform at recognizable music venues. These appearances helped its members gain practical experience playing for audiences in different cities and environments.
The group performed at venues including The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Gas Monkey in Dallas, and the Troubadour in Los Angeles. These appearances represented important steps in the band’s development.
WIP also shared a concert stage with Paramore at Barclays Center in 2018. Performing in larger settings gave Carmen experience beyond smaller community productions and helped strengthen his background as a drummer.
Carmen Matarazzo’s Musical Influences
Carmen’s musical environment was shaped partly by the music his family enjoyed. His father introduced the young musicians to Pearl Jam, whose music became one of the influences connected with their performances.
WIP also covered music associated with different rock artists. Led Zeppelin and The Black Keys were among the groups connected with the band’s musical tastes and performance style.
These influences gave Carmen exposure to rock-oriented drumming and live performance. Playing different songs also allowed the band members to develop their skills while discovering their own musical direction.
Dream Eater and Original Music
Performing covers gave WIP valuable experience, but the group also moved toward creating its own material. One original production associated with the band is titled Dream Eater.
Original music offered Carmen and the other members another opportunity to develop creatively. Creating material differs from performing established songs because musicians have greater responsibility for shaping their own sound.
For Carmen, participating in a band producing original material added another layer to his musical experience. It allowed him to contribute as a drummer while working collaboratively with other young performers.
Carmen Matarazzo’s Television Commercials
Music is Carmen’s main creative interest, but it has not been his only entertainment experience. He has also appeared in television commercials, adding on-camera work to his background.
Commercial appearances gave Carmen exposure to another side of the entertainment business. Unlike a live concert, television production requires performers to work with cameras, production teams, repeated takes, and planned scenes.
These experiences show that Carmen’s entertainment background has included several formats. Nevertheless, drumming and live music remain the activities most closely connected with his individual creative identity.
